The Old Deanery, Ripon
The Old Deanery is located in the centre of Ripon and lies in the shadow of its ancient Cathedral, the origins of which go back to a Minster church built on the site by St Wilfred between 671 and 678. As the name indicates, the hotel was once the residence of the Dean of Ripon but it has for many years offered comfortable accommodation and fine food to locals and visitors alike.
Chaîne member Linda Whitehouse has recently acquired ownership and has taken over management of the Old Deanery. She has the ambition to take the establishment to new heights and has already made an impressive start with extensive refurbishment in the bedrooms and public areas. The restaurant offers a high standard of cuisine and it is intended that the kitchen, under Head Chef Barrie Higginbotham, will extend its reputation for well-presented, inspired dishes based upon the finest local ingredients.
Members will find a particularly warm welcome at The Old Deanery where Linda and her staff are proud of their association with La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.
