Yorkshire

Welcome to the Yorkshire Bailliage section of the GB Chaîne des Rôtisseurs website. I trust that you will find within these pages much that is useful and informative.

The Yorkshire Bailliage was established over 30 years ago and continues to flourish today, thanks to an enthusiastic and growing membership and a committee of dedicated Officers. The guiding Chaîne principles of harmony and good-fellowship characterise all Bailliage activities and visiting members can be sure of a warm and genuine welcome.

The Bailliage covers a very large geographical area, from the ancient ecclesiastical city of York and the bustling conurbation of Leeds and Bradford to the outstanding rural beauty of the Pennines, the Dales, the North York Moors and the rugged North Sea coastline. The county has an abundance of cultural and natural attractions. The area offers a tremendous range of inns and restaurants, from outstanding Michelin-starred establishments to simple country pubs. All have access to excellent supplies of locally-produced vegetables, meat, fish and game and use them to good advantage.

It is always a great pleasure to welcome Chaîne members from other National and International Bailliages to our functions – of which there are around half a dozen each year - and to introduce them to the visual and culinary delights of our county. We would welcome the opportunity to share with other members, whether attending one of our events or simply passing through, the abundance of good things that Yorkshire has to offer. Should you plan to visit Yorkshire please do not hesitate to contact me or one of our Officers if you feel we could be of any assistance.
