Bordeaux Lunch, The 2016 Vintage Ten Years On.

And so it seems only fitting that we hold a lunch at which we can taste some of these wines with food and the venue for the lunch is the relaxed and comfortable environment of Horsted Place Hotel – a Victorian Gothic hotel to which our late Queen and the late Duke of Edinburgh were once regular visitors. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds surrounded by the East Sussex National Golf Courses.

Neil Bennett, Head Chef has designed a menu for us to suit the red Bordeaux wines which will be presented at the lunch and the menu is attached. Members will see that the wines include Château Léoville Poyferré, Château Ormes de Pez, Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste and Château Gloria all of which are highlighted in the Thomas Parker MW’s report, but all the wines on the menu have received respectable reviews. At the reception before the lunch Ballarin Crémant de Bordeaux Brut NV will be served and the price includes the Crémant and all the food and wine on the menu.

The number for this lunch is limited and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The booking form is attached. Members and their husbands/wives/partners will be given priority until 18th September. If any member would like to bring a guest or guests his/her/their names should be included in your application form or in a later separate application form and once the members priority period has expired places for guests will be allocated in accordance with the priority established by the date and time of receipt of those application forms.
