The Old Bell Hotel
This charming old Coaching Inn dates back to the 15th century, it features 15 en suite bedrooms, a pub/bar, restaurant and Thai Restaurant as well as a secluded courtyard for drinks and al fresco dining and a conference and function room for upto 80 people.
Having spent many years in Thailand the Owners decided to add a Thai Twist to this very traditional venue, hence the Thai Restaurant. The Hotel employs Thai Chefs who prepare everything in-house. The owners very much wanted to focus on Authentic Thai cuisine, so be ready for your tastebuds to be transported to Thailand!
The hotels’ Thai restaurant is open 7 days a week for both lunch and dinner. The menu features a selection of classic thai dishes all of which are produced from scratch by the team of Thai Chefs.
The focus is to produce authentic Thai cuisine, this means less sweet, more spicy and more flavour. Although many thai dishes have elements of spice in them not all are spicy so there is plenty of choice even for those who dont enjoy the spice. Making everything in house does also mean that even the spicy dishes can be tailored to the customers spicy tolerance level!
There is also a Pub Classics menu offering a range dishes for those looking for something a little more traditional.
The range of tradition curries available include the Classic Thai Green Curry (pictured), Red Curry, Yellow Curry, a rich and flavourful (but not spicy) Massaman Curry and the firy Jungle Curry. All may be complemented by a range of rice options including Jasmine steamed Rice, Sticky Rice, Coconut Rice or Egg Fried Rice.
The menu also includes a range of classic starters including the popular Mixed Appetizer.
The main courses also include a range of Stir fried dishes including Chicken with Cashew nut (pictiured), the spicy Pad Grapow (with chilli and holy basil), Sweet and Sour, as well as the ever popular Phad Thai.
The spacious and relaxing bar provides a wide range of quality hot and cold drinks.
The Barista coffees include Americanos, Lattes, Cappuccinos, Cortardos, Chai Lattes and more.
The pub style bar also offers local Ales, quality Lagers, a large selection of Gins and other spirits, Cocktails and a great selection of no and low alcoholic drinks.
Its a great place to meet friends or even have a chat with our lovely local customers and the secluded courtyard to the rear provides a haven in the middle of a bustling town to enjoy a drink or some al fresco dining.
The 15 en suite rooms include either a shower or a bath with Shower over, every room features a work/dressing table, flat screen television, tea and coffee making facilities and luxury linen. There are a choice of rooms from Standard comfortable rooms to Superior rooms with a little more space and superking/twin beds and family rooms capable of accommodating a family of 4.
The hotel has its own car park adjacent to the hotel and also welcomes pets.
