Jeune Chaîne Annual Picnic 2025: Le Pique-nique Pétillant

On a characteristically unpredictable September afternoon, the Jeune Chaîne gathered once again in Battersea Park for our annual picnic — this year with the sparkling theme Le Pique-nique Pétillant.

Despite two unpredicted dramatic downpours (and a few jackets over heads!), spirits remained high as members and new friends alike enjoyed a beautifully styled setup by Pampered Picnics. Think pink, white, and beige tones, real wine glasses, gold cutlery, and plush cushions – a definite upgrade from paper cups!

Grapes and Figs provided a delicious spread, with the truffle cheddar demi-brioche buns and egg mayo mini bagels (poppy seeds galore!) emerging as crowd favourites, with one of the most colourful fruit platters that we have ever seen. Guests brought their own sparkles – from Vera Wang prosecco to organic rosé, and even a bottle of Coke made an appearance.

It was a true English picnic: stylish, slightly soggy, a visit from a very wet and muddy puppy, and full of laughter. A special welcome to Linda Liu-Bearne for finally joining us – and a nod to those who has every intention to come, but the weather (and home work – Kristina!) stopped them.
