Erazem Ocvirk – Young Sommelier 2025 Winner!

Erazem Ocvirk is a talented young sommelier from Slovenia who has been making waves in the world of fine wine. At just 28 years old, he has already established himself as a leading figure in the industry. He recently won the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Young Sommeliers Competition 2025 in London, after finishing second the previous year.

Currently the sommelier at The Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, Ocvirk continues to refine his craft while preparing for the World Young Sommeliers Championship in Geneva this September. With eligibility to compete in youth competitions until age 29, he is expected to chase more prestigious titles in the coming years.
Beyond competitions, Ocvirk is known for his deep knowledge of wines from lesser-known regions, including Slovenia. He believes that even small wine producers can make a global impact if they focus on quality rather than quantity.

Erazem Ocvirk represented Great Britain at the International Competition in Geneva, Switzerland, 10th to 14th September 2025. Erazem performed very well and came third, Congratulations!
