A lovely way to spend a Saturday lunchtime and afternoon in the Oxfordshire countryside at a great British country pub.
Delicious food paired with some very interesting wines. The most unusual dish being the Yorkshire Parkin ( a type of gingerbread) with Roquefort cheese and fig matched with a unique Uruguayan dessert wine. Apparently inspired by Barolo chinato and Marsala. Outstanding.
We also loved the mackerel and lamb dishes. In reality they were all brilliant.
We would like to thank Mary Galer, Maître Restaurateur, the GM and our long time Chilterns member and Chef Dean Joseph and all the team for their efforts. Excellent service.
