The Woolpack Inn dates back to 1880 and was originally built as an inn and waystation for travellers using the Drovers’ Trail between Alresford and Stockbridge. Last year it underwent a £3 million renovation and extension with elegant interiors by Nina Campbell whilst still retaining original features like flagstone floors and log fires. This old pub is known for hosting shoots in hunting season and is littered with related memorabilia, including rifles, antique photos and a huge stuffed boar on the wall called Boris who wears a wonky hat and spectacles. The inn was recently ranked #2 in The Sunday Times Best Places to Stay Guide 2026 and boasts 4 AA Stars and 2AA Rosettes.
