Young Sommelier Competition – Great Britain comes third.

The International Young Sommelier Competition took place in Geneva, Switzerland, 10th to 14th September 2025. It was an outstanding event — some great vineyard visits, networking events and fierce but friendly competition. Culminating in the Awards and Gala Dinner in Geneva’s Baitement des force Mortrices in the centre of the Rhone River.
Launched internationally by the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs in 2007, and in Great Britain in 2008, the Young Sommeliers Competition is designed to challenge and showcase young professionals in the beverage industry.
Our competitor, Erazem Ocvirk from Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland did extremely well, and I am delighted to report he came in third place.
