Competitions

The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs supports the development of young culinary and beverage talent through its global competitions. The Young Chefs Competition provides aspiring chefs a platform to showcase their skills at regional, national, and international levels.

Similarly, the Young Sommeliers Competition challenges participants in theory, service, and blind tasting, covering a wide spectrum of wines, spirits, and related knowledge.

The Young Chefs Competition

First organised by the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs in Switzerland in 1977 to support and promote future young chefs by giving them the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their skills. Competitions are held at regional, national and international levels in countries around the world.

Young Sommeliers Competition

This was launched by the Chaîne internationally in 2007, and in GB in 2008. Testing is divided into three parts: theory, service and blind tasting. The theory portion is written and lasts for one hour, testing deep knowledge in all areas of wine, wine production, laws, viticulture and vinification as well as spirits, beers, ales, ciders, ports and sherry.
