Swinton ParkSwinton Park is an exclusive 30 bedroom luxury castle hotel, the ancestral home of the Cunliffe-Lister family, and is set in 200 acres of parkland, lakes and gardens. With 4 Red Stars (Inspector’s Choice) and 3 Rosettes awarded by the AA for excellent facilities, high levels of service and quality of cuisine, this is one of the highest rated hotels in Yorkshire and Cumbria. Swinton Park’s chef, Simon Crannage, enjoys an enviable reputation for the quality of the food served at Samuel’s. Award winning cuisine is served in the sumptuously furnished dining room, with an emphasis on seasonal and local produce inspired by the fruit, vegetables and herbs grown in the hotel’s four acre walled garden (the largest hotel kitchen garden in the UK), and the menus change accordingly. The hotel is also surrounded by a 20,000 acre estate stretching from the River Ure in Wensleydale up onto the moorland Dales and estate venison, rabbit, smoked trout and game are a few examples of the local ingredients sourced from it. |

The Old DeaneryThe Old Deanery is located in the centre of Ripon and lies in the shadow of its ancient Cathedral, the origins of which go back to a Minster church built on the site by St Wilfred between 671 and 678. As the name indicates, the hotel was once the residence of the Dean of Ripon but it has for many years offered comfortable accommodation and fine food to locals and visitors alike. Chaîne member Linda Whitehouse has recently acquired ownership and has taken over management of the Old Deanery. She has the ambition to take the establishment to new heights and has already made an impressive start with extensive refurbishment in the bedrooms and public areas. The restaurant offers a high standard of cuisine and it is intended that the kitchen, under Head Chef Barrie Higginbotham, will extend its reputation for well-presented, inspired dishes based upon the finest local ingredients. Members will find a particularly warm welcome at The Old Deanery where Linda and her staff are proud of their association with La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. |
