The Old Deanery is located in the centre of Ripon and lies in the shadow of its ancient Cathedral, the origins of which go back to a Minster church built on the site by St Wilfred between 671 and 678. As the name indicates, the hotel was once the residence of the Dean of Ripon but it has for many years offered comfortable accommodation and fine food to locals and visitors alike. Chaîne member Linda Whitehouse has recently acquired ownership and has taken over management of the Old Deanery.
