50th Anniversary Grand Chapitre

Stratford-upon-Avon, 25-27 September 2009

Just 9 years after the re-founding of La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs in Paris in 1950 a new national Bailliage de Grand Bretagne was formed. We will be celebrating this golden anniversary in the heart of the country in Shakespeare’s home town. A Grand Chapitre is much more than a large version of a regional Bailliage dinner. It is, in addition, the annual opportunity to induct new members and promotees, to thank a number of people and organisations for various contributions to the Chaîne here in Britain, and to make a number of awards, all to the widest possible audience. Also, to bring together members from all the regions and many member friends from overseas Bailliages in a spirit of fostering the worldwide camaraderie of the Chaîne.

Our programme will include the opportunity to visit the key Shakespeare houses - his birthplace, Mary Arden’s, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, Nash’s House and Hall Croft - plus his grave, the Royal Shakespeare Company theatre and Warwick Castle. Some of you will prefer to relax and enjoy a round or two of golf at our event hotel.
