Summer lunch at Forburys

The pull of Wimbledon, local Henley Regatta and a sudden midday downpour couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of Chaine Chilterns members as they met at Vice Conseiller Culinaire and Maitre Restaurateur Xavier leBellugo’s Forbury’s restaurant for a Saturday summer’s lunch in early July. Delicious canapés were complimented with an exquisite sparkling Rose from Andrea Bocelli, which led into lunch of Colchester crab, lamb two ways with a light cassoulet and Yorkshire rhubarb cheesecake with pink lady apple sorbet. As usual, Xavier had sourced some perfect wines from his extensive cellar to compliment each course and, once again, the team at Forbury’s were given a resounding “sante du chef”.
