Forbury’s Restaurant

September 8, 2017

Xavier, who came to England in 1991 “to learn the language”, has a CV that reads like a Who’s Who of the restaurant world, having worked with Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons, the Roux brothers, “French Leave” celebrity chef, John Burton-Race and also Sir Terence Conran. Forbury’s has a great following and this lunch is sure to be popular. Wine is one of Xavier’s passions and he has carefully chosen from list of 240 wines those that he feels perfectly match each course. Forbury’s has gained the AA’s Notable Wine List Award.

The restaurant is just 5 minutes’ walk from Reading Railway station. There is also a car park and for those wanting to stay over in Reading and maybe make a weekend the Novotel a few minutes’ walk away has provided a deal for us which is outlined below in the travel section.
