INVITATION TO AGM AND LUNCHEON

SATURDAY 4TH JULY 2009 Cher Confrérie,

I am delighted to invite you to the next Annual General Meeting of the Thames Valley Bailliage which will be taking place on 4th July and will be followed by a great BBQ lunch organised by Maitre Rôtisseur Jeremy Fowler and hosted by Bob and Wendy Hughes.

We have just had a very successful weekend in Lincoln with exceptional food and service. As you know the Chapitre is planned for the 25-27 September at Stratford and details of this are on the website (www.chaine.co.uk). We have then planned dinner with Maître Hôtelier Michael Grange at the Randolph Hotel in Oxford on Friday 23rd October and we have provisionally booked lunch on the Saturday at Brasserie Blanc in the City. On Sunday 29th November we are having lunch at Le Raj in Epsom, hosted by Maître de Table Restaurateur Enam Ali, who we were delighted to see was awarded an MBE earlier this year for his works for charity.

We currently planning an interesting dairy of events for next year which we hope will include dinner at The Clink at HMP Downside, which has recently been opened and is run by the inmates. We are also looking at a weekend in Brighton, Dinner at Great Fosters and possibly a return visit to Wisley. We also hope to have dinner at Guildford College and at this event we will be awarding a student trophy in memory of our Vice Conseiller Gastronomique, Keith Perry, who died in March. We are also planning to have a few local lunches which might suit many of you. We always welcome suggestion for venues and please ring me (01483.750991) with any of these.

For those of you that have renewed this year I have taken the opportunity to include your membership card and new enamel Union Jack badge for your collar. If you joined more recently then you will have already received these.

We do hope to see you at the AGM, but if not then at one of the many events that are taking place across the Country.

Kind regards

Vic Laws
