Dinner at The Leconfield, Petworth

February 21, 2014

This is our second visit to The Leconfield as our first was excellent. We are again dining privately in the spectacular Vaulted Dining Room, with original beams, and original wattle and daub construction. The beautiful restaurant is situated in the centre of Petworth, and is under the same ownership as the nearby Hungry Guest delicatessen, with its magnificent cheese room.

Head chef, David Lewis, has worked at seafood restaurant The Crab at Chieveley, as senior chef de partie at Harts restaurant in Nottingham, sous chef at The Bull Hotel in Dorset and The Fish House restaurant at Chilgrove before joining the Leconfield at its opening in April 2011. Pascal Proyart (head chef at One-O-One in Knightsbridge, London) is consultant chef to The Leconfield bringing his enthusiasm for the Chaine, local produce and a wealth of experience running one of the best kitchens in London. Proyart has won a number of awards including most recently being voted the 5th Best Restaurant in Britain by The Sunday Times and Harden’s in 2012. Rooms are available in Petworth if you wish to stay overnight.
