Dinner at Restaurant 27, Southsea

Solent Bailliage’s first dinner for 2014 is to be held at Restaurant 27, Southsea, Hampshire.
Chef proprietor Kevin Bingham welcomes us to his restaurant which is winning high praise. Some of you who, in the past, might have eaten at the then Michelin rated Manleys in Storrington may well have enjoyed his cooking. After Manleys, Kevin worked at The Horn of Plenty in Tavistock - also highly rated. Now firmly based in Southsea, Restaurant 27 holds the only AA 2 Rosette award for Portsmouth restaurants.
Kevin and his team have put together a tasting menu, and for one of the courses there is beef cheek. We appreciate that we had this at 36 On the Quay in Emsworth, but Kevin is cooking this differently and we hope you will enjoy the contrast for this one course. Wines have not yet been finally decided because Kevin’s wine list is changing in January, so we hope that you will be prepared to commit without knowledge of these and trust to the recommendations to be made.
