Albury Vineyard is situated at Silent Pool on the North Down of the beautiful Surrey Hills. The vineyard was planted by Nick Wenman, who had a lifelong dream of owning a vineyard, and it is now run by the family team of Nick and his daughter Lucy, along with the Vineyard Manager Alex and expert winemakers. The vineyard is completely organic, one of the main elements to which Nick attributes the success of the wines.

Their first rose, produced in 2011, was a still wine made exclusively from hand picked Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes and it was such a huge success that the first vintage was served on board the Royal barge to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. This wine now sells out every year within a few months of its release, the next release being in May this year.

Other Albury wines - Albury Classic Cuvée, Albury Estate Blanc de Blancs and Albury Estate Sparkling Rose, have all been award winners. There are more recent additions to their collection including the Duke’s Reserve Brandy, made from pressings of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier grapes and named after the Duke of Northumberland on whose estate Albury Vineyard lies. Each small batch is released after the harvest in November and each bottle is individually numbered.

The vineyard is open to the public at certain stated times, and one is always assured of a warm and friendly welcome.

Nick had a dream of owning his own vineyard for a number of years, and finally found his ambition come true with the securing of part of the Duke of Northumberland’s estate in the Surrey Hills – now Albury Vineyards. His wines are organic top quality - still and sparkling, and apart from them being top class and thoroughly enjoyable, the vineyard setting itself is beautiful. Well worth a visit, and you will be made most welcome.
