Forbury’s Restaurant Reading
Maître-Restaurateur, Xavier LeBellego, will welcome you to his French influenced restaurant on Reading’s Forbury Square. This is French cooking with a touch of modernity. Xavier is a founder member of the new Chilterns Bailliage.
Xavier, who came to England in 1991 “to learn the language”, has a CV that reads like a Who’s Who of the restaurant world, having worked with Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons, the Roux brothers, “French Leave” celebrity chef, John Burton-Race and also Sir Terence Conran. Forbury’s has a great following in the area.
Wine is one of Xavier’s passions, with a wine-list containing a variety of wines from around the world sourced carefully to match with the menu. With some 14 wines by the glass, you will find it exiting to try different wines with the food or simply as a drink in our wine bar. Forbury’s has gained the AA’s Notable Wine List Award and last year was Reading City Restaurant of the Year.
