Student Dinner at Thames Valley University

March 4, 2009

We are delighted that The London School of Tourism and Hospitality has again agreed to hold a Châine event at Ealing College. Our hosts for the evening are three chefs from the Academy of Culinary Arts.

The Académie Culinaire de France was founded in 1883 by Joseph Favre, a Swiss chemist living in Paris with a particular interest in food. Today, its members can be found all over the world from the UK to the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, and the Benelux countries. Michel Bourdin and Albert Roux OBE were behind the establishment of the Academy of Culinary Arts - the British branch of the Académie Culinaire de France in 1980.

It has become our practice, for College Dinners only, to show our appreciation of the students’ work by organising a tronc for them at the end of the evening. Last year at Brooklands College we collected around £150 which was used to fund competition entries for the young chefs and purchase cups awarded at the College prize giving to recognise the students’ achievements. Dress will be Lounge Suits with Collars.
