Opened in 2003, Cassons is run by husband and wife team, Viv and ‘Cass’ Casson.and has enjoyed great success in the area becoming known as one of the best restaurants in West Sussex.

Viv has an impressive pedigree as a Chef. She has owned and cooked in her Restaurants in London, France and was the founder of 36 North Street in Emsworth (now Spencers) followed by 36 on the Quay in the 80’s. She won the Sunday Times ‘Taste of Britain Award’ for the best Country Restaurant. Viv has also been the British Representative of the prestigious Association des Restauratrices Cuisinieres ~ a French Society for top women Chefs owning and cooking in their own Restaurants to a Michelin Star standard. Viv is assisted in the kitchen by Pete Merrit who has a wealth of experience ranging from top quality hotel kitchens to exclusive Dining.

Cass runs front of House with his experience as a Human Resources guru, and love of good food and wine. He provides a service which is relaxed but efficient and a warm welcome is what keeps their customers returning.

The food at Cassons is sourced locally where possible. The cuisine is based on fresh produce, cooked with flair and imagination. Viv’s theory is that the customers should taste with their eyes first, and that the taste should exceed the expectation.
