The French Horn has been providing hospitality for two hundred years. Originally a coaching inn the hotel has been in the Emmanuel family since 1972 with a focus on providing quality food and excellent service. It has a reputation as one of the finest restaurants in Reading with comfortable rooms.
The French Horn sits next to the bridge in the busy little village of Sonning on Thames. The hotel is on the banks of the river providing a stunning backdrop to the restaurant for our Lunch. Michael Emmanuel has worked with us to provide a great menu for our lunch and is also offering a special Chaine rate for those staying overnight.

Directions:
From London and the East: Take the M4 and exit at Junction 8/9. Take A404 and exit at 9b. Take the A4 towards Reading. After approximately 8 miles, take B478 (Charvil Lane). Drive through the village and cross over the river. The French Horn is on your right and our car park is on your left.
From the South West and West: Take the M4, then exit at Junction 10, A329 (M). Continue on to the A329M towards Reading. After 2 miles, take the A4 towards Maidenhead. Follow the A4 across two roundabouts. Turn left onto the B4446, Sonning Lane. Turn left onto the High Street. Turn left onto Thames Street (B478). Cross over the river, The French Horn is on the right and our car park is on the left.
From the Midlands and North: Take the M40, exiting at Junction 4, taking the A404. Join the A4, then follow this for approximately 7 miles, leaving at the B478 (Charvil Lane). At the mini roundabout, bear right onto Thames Street. Drive through the village and cross over the river. The French Horn is on your right and our car park is on your left.
Train: There are regular services to Reading from London Paddington, Bristol and Birmingham, as well as other major railway stations across the UK. Please see www.nationalrail.co.uk for further details. There are two Taxi ranks at Reading station one on town side, one on Caversham side either will do and it is c£10 journey. Reading is 4 miles from Sonning-on-Thames.
