A sweeping drive through part of the 27 hole championship golf course leads you to The Mansion, originally built for John Penn in the late 18th century who had sold his family’s 26 million acre estate, now known as Pennsylvania, to the new United States government. The estate grounds were originally landscaped by Lancelot “Capability” Brown.

Stoke Park is one of only 49 hotels in the UK to have been awarded 5 AA Red Stars putting it alongside the likes of Claridges, The Dorchester, The Ritz and Gleneagles.

Stoke Park has appeared in a number of films including "Bridget Jones Diary" and "Layer Cake". But it is probably best remembered for some of the James Bond films particularly "Goldfinger" and the golf match between 007 and Goldfinger assisted by Oddjob.

Executive Head Chef and Maître Rôtisseur Chris Wheeler and his Senior Sous Chef, Tom Addy, have worked hard to design a fantastic menu especially for Chaîne Chilterns members and their guests. Tom is a previous entrant in the Chaîne Young Chef of the Year competition and under Chris’s direction has produced a wonderful menu for this lunch, an event not to be missed.

Chris Wheeler is a familiar face on TV appearing on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen, Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, Hell’s Kitchen 2 and, most recently, on BBC 2’s Great British Menu. He also makes regular appearances on radio with Capital FM and BBC Radio Berkshire. In 2016 Chris was awarded the prestigious Hotel Chef of the Year Award ( over 250 covers) at the Hotel Cateys, and was appointed as the UK Ambassador for the AHDB Quality Standard Mark Beef and Lamb scheme.

When he’s not in the kitchen, Chris can be found doing fantastic things for the local community, running marathons in his chef’s whites, hosting pop-up charity restaurants and organising cake sales for the MacMillan Cancer Charity.

Chris’s style of cooking is modern British food with a twist and his superb signature dishes. Chaîne members and their guests are guaranteed an outstanding meal in exquisite surroundings and a perfect start to the seasonal party.
